Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Egypt, upon your arrival at Cairo airport keep your eyes open for Out and About Adventure sign, our airport representative will assist you through immigration and passport control and collecting your baggage. You will then be transferred to your hotel, freshen up and start our group meeting with your tour guide and other group members, who will brief you about the tour package and the amazing experiences you will have over the next eight days. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy the ambiance of Cairo! Or you can enjoy Optional Activities Group Dinner on the Cruise.

Day 2: Giza Pyramids Complex and Saqqara Necropolis

Breakfast will be prepared. Today will be an early day of tours and adventures. The day will be spent exploring Egypt’s famous pyramids and Sphinx. Enjoy the iconic wonders as you learn about the ancient history of Cairo Time will be allotted to visit the Giza Pyramids complex -the Pyramid of Cheops or Khufu, Pyramid of Khafre or Chephren, and Pyramid of Menkaure or Mykerinos. your tour guide will accompany you to learn about the 4,600-year. You will have a chance to visit the inside of one of the pyramids if you wish. The pyramids have wrought great mystery over the years, as the individual blocks of the pyramid often weigh upwards of one ton. People have speculated that aliens were behind their massive construction, and as such, they draw millions of visitors each year. From there, we will make our way out to the Valley Temple of the Pyramids, where the iconic symbol of Egypt, the mighty Sphinx, lies. Our Egyptologist will provide you with all the lore and tales that surround the half-lion, a half-man creature as you get up close and personal with its majestic nature. Our last stop will be the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, which is Egypt's oldest pyramid, dating back to the 3rd Dynasty of Egypt. You will then be transported to the train station to board a sleeper train for the evening, while we travel to Aswan.

Day 3: Aswan high dam and Philae Temple

Waking up in Aswan, the first stop of our tour will be the high dam, which was an engineering construction built in 1960, to protect the country from the strong waters of the Nile River. It is considered one of Egypt's more modern constructions and is nearly 400 feet tall. After this, we will end the day with a visit to the Philae Temple, which was erected to honor the Goddess Isis. We will then go to our Nile cruise in Aswan for check-in, after that, you will have the opportunity to visit the Nubian village and try the traditional Homemade Nubian dinner. as an optional group dinner.

Day 4: Aswan

Get ready to discover Aswan and the top view of the Nile River and if you have good energy goes to one of most unforgettable Temples, Abu Simbel temples as an optional group Activity Once we arrive at Abu Simbel, we will tour the temple, which is made from solid rock. They were originally carved into the side of a mountain but were relocated in the mid-nineties. You will witness Abu Simbel, The Great Temple, which took nearly 20 years to build. Its massive grandeur has attracted millions of visitors over the last century. You will also get to experience the small temple, or the temple of Hathor and Nefertari, which was dedicated to Hathor and a chief consort of the time. Its beautiful architecture features images of the king and his consort nearly as equals which is almost unheard of. Back To Aswan to start our amazing Nile Adventure with our traditional Sailing Boat (Felucca) for the next two nights so you can relax and can enjoy cruising down the Nile.

Day 5: Cruising Down the Nile with our traditional Sailing Boat (Felucca)

Time To Relax and you will have the opportunity to swim on the Nile and enjoy your time with other group members and get to know each other and make new friends while you are on the tour. And Your Nubian sailing crew, will cook all the deliciously hearty meals for our group and enjoy the campfire at night. Accommodation: Traditional Sailing Boat (Felucca)

Day 6: Kom Ombo and Luxor

In the morning disembark our felucca and then drive to the temple of Kom Ombo, which overlooks the Nile. It is noted for its double temple architecture and was constructed during the Ptolemaic Dynasty. The double temple architecture was created because it was supposed to host two sets of gods. Our second stop will be in Edfu, which hosts the Temple of Horus. Edfu is also the location where Egyptian myths say that Horus avenged Osiris by brutally murdering Seth. It is a high-traffic place for those who love grandeur and mythology. After this, we will continue to drive to Luxor. Arrive in Luxor and then we will head on over to the Luxor Temple, which dates to the 18th Dynasty in the New Kingdom under the rule of King Ramses II. The temple was dedicated to the Theban triad. The temple has been known to hold great significance to the Opet Festival, which celebrates fertility. Our adventure continues to visit the Karnak temples, which were monuments erected in honor of the God Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu.

Day 7: Luxor and Valley of the Kings

The west bank of Luxor is waiting for you to explore the Valley of the Kings, where for 500 years, tombs were made and placed for Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. The royal tombs are decorated majestically with scenes from Egyptian mythology, that have helped historians figure out rituals of the time period. Many of the tombs have been robbed over time, but they still hold the power of the Pharaohs that are buried there. After the Valley of the Kings, we will progress on to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which dates to the 18th dynasty. The Queen was the only Pharaonic woman who reigned all of ancient Egypt. If time permits, we will also visit the Colossi of Memnon. Take an optional Activities hot air balloon ride over Luxor. Late this evening transfer to the train station to board a sleeper train for the evening, while we travel back to Cairo. Accommodation: Sleeper Train

Day 8: Cairo

Arrive in Cairo and transfer to your hotel to spend the day at your leisure or do an optional to the Egyptian museum, the Hanging Church and the Citadel of Saladin, Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Later this evening starts our group meeting with your tour guide and other group members to say goodbye to each other and celebrate your tour ending.

Day 9: Cairo

Egypt Travel Highlights

Giza Pyramids

The Giza complex is a large ancient Egyptian burial site located on the Giza plateau, just outside of Cairo. It consists of several structures, including the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, and various smaller pyramids and tombs. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest and most well-known structure in the complex, and was built for the pharaoh Khufu during the 26th century BCE. It stands at 147 meters (481 feet) tall and was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years. The Pyramid of Khafre, built for the pharaoh Khafre, is the second-largest pyramid in the complex and stands at 136 meters (446 feet) tall. It is distinguished by its smooth limestone casing at the top of the pyramid. The Pyramid of Menkaure, built for the pharaoh Menkaure, is the smallest of the three main pyramids and stands at 65 meters (213 feet) tall.

Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx is a large limestone statue of a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. It stands near the pyramids and is believed to have been built during the reign of the pharaoh Khafre.

Saqqara Complex

The most famous pyramid in the Saqqara complex is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, which was built for the pharaoh Djoser. This pyramid is considered to be the world's oldest major stone structure and was the first pyramid to be built entirely of stone. It was designed by the famous architect Imhotep, who is credited with inventing the pyramid form. The Step Pyramid of Djoser is composed of six stacked mastabas, which are flat-roofed rectangular structures that were commonly used in early Egyptian tombs. The pyramid stands at 62 meters (203 feet) tall and has a base that measures 121 meters (396 feet) by 109 meters (358 feet). Other pyramids in the Saqqara complex include the Pyramid of Unas, the Pyramid of Teti, and the Pyramid of Userkaf. These pyramids were built for other pharaohs of the Old Kingdom period and are notable for their intricate decorations and inscriptions, which provide insight into the beliefs and customs of ancient Egypt.

Are airport transfers included and how do I arrange them?

Yes, all our tours start in Cairo including airport arrival transfer. You should contact us at info@outandaboutadventure.com with all your flight information (name of travelers, date of flight, flight number, and arrival time) at least two weeks before your departure date. If you do not receive confirmation of your pick-up arrangements, you should contact Out and About Adventure. On the day of your arrival, you will be met at the airport by Out and About Adventure representative holding a sign with the company's name.

How Can I book pre or post Accommodations?

It's always recommended to book pre/post-tour accommodation, especially if you're arriving late at night or departing early in the morning. This will help ensure a smooth and hassle-free transition between your accommodations and the tour itself. during the online booking process, be sure to follow the instructions provided or contact us at info@outandaboutadventure.com directly for assistance with arranging pre/post-tour accommodation.

Where is the welcome meeting on day 1 of my tour?

The welcome meeting will be held in the hotel lobby around 7 pm with your tour guide and other group members. if there are any changes to the arrival hotel, you will be notified by email before the trip. It's important to attend the welcome meeting as it's a great opportunity to meet your tour guide and fellow travelers and to receive important information about the tour itinerary, safety guidelines, and other important details. However, if you are unable to attend the welcome meeting due to late arrival, be sure to let us know in advance.

Can I be roomed with my friends?

Please contact us at info@outandaboutadventure.com with your request and we will do our best to arrange your room according to that.

I’m a solo passenger, do I need to pay a single supplement?

There are always solo travelers on our tours if you are willing to share a room with another solo traveler of the same gender. While having a single room can be more expensive due to the single room supplement fee, it can be worth it for those who value privacy, and comfort, having a private room allows you to have your own space and privacy, which can be important for some travelers who prefer to have some alone time or need to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.

Do you arrange Flights Tickets?

Our tours do not include airfare from or to the destination, and we do not advise on tickets or sell flight tickets, it`s your responsibility to arrive at the designated destination on time.

What is a Tipping Kitty Cover?

out and about adventure collects a tipping kitty at the start of each tour which covers the hotel staff, Drivers, luggage handlers, local staff, and other support representatives throughout the trip. This is often the easiest way to avoid the hassle of needing small change and knowing when and what is an appropriate amount to tip. Participation in this kitty is optional, and you are welcome to manage your tipping separately if you prefer. Please note the tipping kitty excludes tips for your tour leader. On the first day of your trip, your local tour leader will collect a group tipping kitty from you, to which everybody contributes an equal amount at the start of the tour. Your leader then uses this to tip drivers, local guides, and hotel staff, luggage handlers, support representatives on your behalf. This took the hassle out of tipping and was something we were all very grateful for.

Whom will I be sharing a room with?

All our Travelers will stay in twin-share rooms with a Traveller of the same gender. Sharing a room means that you will be staying in the same room with another person, typically a member of the same tour group. The room will be a twin room with two separate beds, you will be paired with someone of the same gender. Sharing a room can be a great way to meet new people and make friends on your trip. You'll have someone to talk to and share experiences with, and you may even end up staying in touch after the tour is over. It can also be a more affordable option for travelers on a budget, as you will typically pay less for a shared room than you would for a private room.
